Hello everyone!

We are glad to announce work on the third target: PLpro_v2, the same protein with another catalytic active site.
We resume task generation with a new validator. It was implemented to automate result check which caused some delays before.

Thank you all for supporting the project!

The server experiences a new unexpected problem with giving out tasks. We are working at it!

You might mention whether any fourth target is planned.

Please add Target=corona_PLpro_v2 to the Project Status list so we can see how fast we rip through it :-)

I'm seeing more of the VIs but I'm also seeing that some Validated on windows. Maybe it's par for the course.

Hello,
Weird things happening here.
Stopped laptop yesterday with WU at 17%. Turned it on just now and all the tasks are beginning from 0%. Currently running
RxDock on BOINC v1.00
x86_64-pc-linux-gnu

Any clues?

Hello laplume!

Compuations performed without checkpoints and after BOINC restart, computations start from zero. Thank you for participation!

Check if your system can hibernate, may need to enable in settings.
That way tasks should resume when turning back on.

Checkpointing needs to be high on your To Do List.

Check points are under 'options > computing preferences > Request task check point' i have mine set to every 180 seconds, if i have a power outage or a PC crash i could lose 1h05m computing on one work unit without checkpoints, but spread over the 32 cores ( 32 running work units at almost completion 99%) its a day and a half of lost work :( so having mine set to 180seconds i would lose about 1h30min computing time worsted case scenario,

obviously with some computers which have a high clock frequency and less cores .. lets say work units take 32min and have 8 cores you would only lose 4 hours of work (with no check points), but again this is lost computing time... so a ball park ' Request task check point' set at every 300 seconds would be OK (40minits of computing time lost), im sure some one will have a formula or something :)

That works for BOINC applications that have checkpointing written into the program, CMdock doesn't, so it won't work for CMdock.
