Project progress displayed on Server status page. :) Wow, it actually updates every few minutes as soon as 0,001% gets done! Wish other projects took the time to implement such a (seemingly) simple status indicator. What would be interesting is an estimate of when the current project is expected to finish, based on total % left and average % done in past 5 days, something similar to what Einstein has. Would it be possible to add such an estimate? :D Edit: I'll start manually recording timestamps and completion status, see what it shows. A very rough estimate, based on half an hour (it's a joke, I know) would put completion at around 300-350 days from now.

After a bit over 3 days, the average rate of completion clocks in at 0,265%/day meaning that the project would finish in late October/early November 2026.

Garrulus glandarius, this is very interesting - thank you! for your checking of possible finish-date if CPU-donations stay about the same during the time period. It seems to be a fair amount left to CPU-crunch, but we will get there - if we all donate CPU-resources. My hoping is that even more install BOINC and donate, I have told my family and friends for the last 10 years or so to do this :) , of course only if they have ok CPU/GPU-cooling and hardware to do it. Thank you again! With best regards |

Admins could probably make much more accurate and detailed predictions but I guess a rough estimate is more than enough now. The most important thing is to keep the flow of WUs stable in order not to lose volunteers/computers. There has been a slight increase in crunching speed so the current estimate has moved up to early october. Bear in mind though that fluctuations will remain wild because we just passed the 5% completion mark. On the other hand, I just realized that averaging completion speed from the beginning (5th Nov.) will not be relevant after a couple of weeks if there will be an up- or downtick in crunching capacity. I'll probably calculate a rolling project end estimate based on the last 5 days instead.
